Petr Tichý, DiS. - Piano Teacher & Accompanist

My journey in music began unconventionally at the age of 29 when I first sat at the piano. Thanks to intensive studies under the guidance of Vladimír Nytra, after three years I was accepted to the Church Conservatory of the German Order in Opava, where I graduated with honors in the class of MgA. Lukáš Poledna, Ph.D.

After four years of study, I began working as a piano teacher and accompanist at the Elementary School of Arts in Ostrava-Poruba. Currently, I teach at the Leoš Janáček Elementary School of Arts in Havířov. In 2022 I accompanied a winner of the national competition of Elementary Schools of Arts in the Singing category. I served as an accompanist for the choir at the Pavel Tigrid Language Grammar School in Ostrava-Poruba and collaborated on a concert project supported by the Moravian-Silesian Region.

Alongside my teaching activities, I pursue composition. I acquired the fundamentals of composition under the guidance of Olga Šmídová and continue to develop my skills in film music composition under the mentorship of composer Alex Pfeffer.

My journey demonstrates that with passion and determination, one can achieve extraordinary results at any age.
